My heart was breaking for you
My heart was breaking for you
Whispering down the phone,
So tired your voice would shake.
I wanted so much in the moment right there.
I wanted to hold you
To shield you and love you.
I wanted to hear the smile in your voice
The smile she'd taken away.
I did what I'd always do
(You know I'd do anything for you)
I stopped you from falling down to the dirt
I lifted you up as much as I could.
And then, my friend, you told me
Everything was alright again
She'd forgiven your indiscretion
And everything was alright again.
And I smiled and said all the things that I should.
And I cried in my heart
(you've never really known it)
I can't hold you

Hunting the Witch:
I tracked her down to a squalid cave
Where the entrance smelled of rotting flesh.
Putrid and vile, bloated with maggots;
It stung the nose with every breath.
I avoided choking and steeled my will
For the mouth was a facade to deter the weak.
But the inside was opulent, rich and vibrant;
It matched the prey which I had to seek...
She sat in the center, confident and calm
Displayed on a throne of solid gold.
She wore a dress of beautiful silk
Red in colour, and very bold...
Her scent reminded me of gentle flowers
It soothed the soul to behold this sight.
She appeared in the form of an ancient goddess;

Dragon's call, the silence breaks,
Wake the Weyr, ready make
The dragons, riders, weyrfolk too,
For Pern is in Great need of you.
Take to the skies, prepare to fight,
For Thread is falling fast tonight.
Your wings you beat, the wind you ride,
Bare your rider to the leading side.
Crush the stone, the fire breathe
To sear the Thread; above, beneath.
Twisting, turning, duck between,
'Til pain tears through your triumphant scream.
Draping, lacing, searing flesh,
Jump between, in haste you rush
And loose your way, so there you stay,
Forever gone, so far away.
The keen of thousands tear the air,
Their sorrow in voice, deep as despa
She needed to tell him.
She'd needed to tell him for months now, but something, a little voice in the back of her mind, a little quaver in her voice, had always stopped her.
What was she missing?
She loved until it hurt, hoped until the very end.
Her faith was unshakable, her patience unending.
So what was keeping her from saying the one thing that had kept her up late, so many nights?
Fear. Doubt. Rejection. Pain.
And then, it came to her, quickly as she could blink her eye she knew what she was missing, what she needed.
She dug a pen out of an old junk drawer and with cold, quick fingers scrawled one word on her wrist, faded and messy

Love and Heartbreak
Love is when you can't stop thinking about them,
when you hear their voice inside your head.
You can tell it's them just by their scent.
When you want a picture of just the two of you,
so they can always "be with you".
Love is when you call them
just to talk about anything; just to hear their voice.
When you worry about them if something happens,
when they cheer you up by giving you a hug
or just staying by your side.
Love is being able to read their eyes.
You can see when they're happy,
and help them when they're sad.
When you don't need to talk to each other,
because your eyes talk for the two of you.
Heartbreak is when you c

If this is the Lucy I think it is, then this is an unexpected surprise! I didn't realise you were on DA. Lol, I'm getting carried away, it's Sophie (Rogerson). I shall certainly be giving you a 'watch'.
(and to think I found you here through a search to see if Gordissimo was an actual name, lol)
